Telling Jesus’ Stories

June 4th, 2015 | in Inspiring People |    0

God is moving powerfully. Have you heard? Have you told your story? Can we be the voices that create a culture of storytelling? Life is a journey, and each one of us has a unique story of how the Lord has held our hand through times of trial, coasting, and joy.

I love to tell the stories of God’s goodness, His abiding presence, and the astounding things He does for people. Our experiences are similar to one another’s, and yet are also profoundly our own experiences. I am amazed at our gentle Saviour and how He moves in quiet and also powerful ways.

How many times has your faith been encouraged through the stories of God’s power working in another person? I get excited when I hear what God is doing, challenged when I hear the faith of another, and stronger in faith when I tell others about the wonder of God.

I am challenged to be part of the culture of storytelling. God is alive and doing wonderful things, and I believe that the more we tell, the more He will do.

God fulfills His purposes in us through joy, success, and trials; He trains us in discipline, dependence, and faithfulness. He calls us to be courageous, to exercise our faith, and to tell His stories so that others will hear of Him.

I have many stories that tell of the love and faithfulness of my Saviour. My daughter is a book’s worth of stories on how the faithfulness of the loving Christ brought her from a life of loss to living hope through adoption into the family of God.

There is also the story of a Lao woman who worked in our home for fifteen years, who experienced the healing power and intervention of Christ many times and finally chose to follow Him!

There is the story of a Thai friend who also experienced the healing power of Christ and peace. She not only was healed, but also believes that she has seen the same Jesus who healed her in a vision by our gate!

These are the incredible stories of the redemptive work of Christ, and He asks us to proclaim Him. I’ve heard the stories of prisoners set free, rocky marriages restored, faith, baptisms, unity, prodigals, inner-healing, victory over sin, and oppressed people set free. Oh, the stories we can tell!

I proclaim that the Sovereign LORD is working in our day so that His glory will be made known and many will know him. We must tell the stories of Jesus!

We need to have a culture of storytelling so that Christ will be glorified and be made known. Please join us in telling the stories of Christ through relationships, church gatherings, and writing.

God is on the move; tell His stories! Click here to share your story right now.

“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts” (2 Corinthians 3:2-3).
