Season of Waiting

We were in a season of waiting. I don’t know about you, but I really do not like waiting. God often calls us to wait upon Him, and there are characteristics in us that can be formed in no other way—patience, perseverance, trust, hope, and dependence on God. We waited, allowing God to act and trusting that He would act, not because we could not act but because we trust that His action will be greater than our own.

This is a far cry from the, “God helps those who help themselves” mentality we often fall into. Isaiah 30:18 proclaims, “Blessed are all who wait upon him!” There is a blessing to be found in waiting that this harried culture cannot understand. It takes strength to truly wait on the Lord.

But waiting does not mean doing nothing. We are called to wait with eyes fixed on Jesus, full of hope, ready for when He will act and when He calls us to join Him in His action.

Praise God for His faithfulness in moving faster than Albert and Elaine expected. Pray for them as they continue to develop their ministry.
Call to action: Is there something that you are waiting for? As you hope for God to act, spend time reflecting on His faithfulness.
