Resource KitTo find out how your church can become involved with our Justice and Compassion ministries, we’ve assembled a helpful resource kit complete with ideas, links, and information related to justice and compassion. Inside you’ll find helpful information about the ministries we support such as chaplains, parish nurses, refugee sponsorship, Defend Dignity, disability ministries, disaster relief, and so much more!

We have also included a USB drive that contains useful electronic resources such as videos, PowerPoint presentations, documents, and links to online content that we think you will find helpful for promoting your own local justice and compassion initiatives. End Hunger Resources

2016 CFGB Update

End Hunger pictureThe C&MA in Canada is one of 15 denominations and church agencies that make up the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Together, we work to address global hunger through food assistance, nutrition, and agricultural and livelihood programming. An important partner in this work is the Canadian government, which contributes to the Foodbank members' programming (currently $25 million per year).

Our C&MA programming is focused in Niger, one of the world's poorest and least developed countries according to the United Nations. Alliance Justice and Compassion oversees two agriculture and livelihood projects and one food assistance project being implemented by Samaritan's Purse - Niger.

Another important initiative of the Foodgrains Bank is advocacy. One billion people in the world suffer from chronic hunger. In a world of such abundance, this must not be. Ironically, many that go to bed hungry are small shareholder farmers in the developing world. The Canadian government has taken leadership in addressing and supporting global food security initiatives. While their commitment to food assistance remains strong, we want to encourage them to increase funding for sustainable agriculture.  On behalf of the Foodgrains Bank members, we invite you to share this information with your congregation and encourage them write their Member of Parliament to express their concern about global hunger and to urge Canada to increase their support in this way for the hungry around the world. You can do this by participating in the Harvest of Letters campaign.
