Disaster Update - How You Can HelpMay 8th, 2018 | in | 3
The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada is committed to bringing hope, healing, and restoration to those affected by natural disasters around the world – including right here at home. As water levels continue to threaten southern New Brunswick, flooding communities and putting families and their homes at risk, we’d like to take this time to remind our Alliance church family and supporters about the Global Emergency Response Fund (GERF), created to support communities when crisis or natural disasters strike. We continue to monitor and pray for New Brunswick as the situation develops, and we know our local churches and Alliance networks are already connecting and determining ways to help.
Through the Global Emergency Response Fund, we have provided support for hurricane relief in the Caribbean, earthquake relief in Mexico, relief from economic crisis in Latin America, and relief from the effects of the Fort Mcmurray wildfires here in Canada. During the Fort McMurray Wildfires Beulah Alliance Church in Edmonton opened their hearts and homes to people displaced by one of the most devastating national disasters Canada has ever seen. Your donation to this fund ensures that aid is supplied as quickly as possible to where it is most needed as well as continues to assist with long-term restoration. Your contribution to the Global Emergency Response Fund makes a difference. Our immediate response to these disasters provides opportunities for seeds to be sown and for people to experience God’s love and compassion tangibly.
Stay tuned for any further updates on the GERF and New Brunswick and thanks always for your love and generous support.
“Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you.” Deuteronomy 16:17
