Lorne and Vivian
Our God Story
We both accepted Christ as children – Lorne through his grandmother and Vivian through Child Evangelism Fellowship (first hearing a call to missions at age 10). We have sought to faithfully serve through the local church and through the workplace (this included a year in Liberia with SIM).
Lorne has been a journalist, broadcaster, and writer as well as a stay-at-home dad. Vivian, a first-generation Canadian, speaks English, French, and German. First an adult ESL teacher, she then served in the public school system for 34 years, the last 20 as a school principal. We took early retirement to work in support of persecuted Christians in the Middle East and refugees in Europe. We see ourselves as bridge builders, reaching out to those who need Christ and encouraging believers to grow in their faith and in their understanding of how they can support the Great Commission.
We want to share God’s love with those who don’t know Him, to create a place of refuge where people can feel and respond to His love and share that love with others.
Our desire is to build and strengthen the church in the Middle East and Europe by supporting those facing persecution and reaching out to refugees. In Germany there is more freedom to hear about Jesus, but many fears and distractions both among refugees and the local church.
Our desire is to strengthen and build Christ’s church, especially reaching those from Muslim backgrounds. Lorne works with Middle East Concern to support the persecuted church in that region. Vivian partners with those in Germany who share the vision to reach out and serve Muslims and Believers from a Muslim background (BMB).
Silk Road Team
Least-reached People Group (LRPG)
We work with a unique group of LRPG’s called the Persecuted Church in Middle East and Refugees.
Pray that the believers in the Middle East would know the comfort of the Holy Spirit and realize they are not alone, that their brothers and sisters worldwide are holding them up in prayer.
Pray for revelation of Christ’s vision for networking among believers to reach and integrate refugees into local churches
Pray as Vivian visits and teaches German to refugee women and works to mentor and serve local believers in our area.
The GAF provides important supporting services for us to be on the team. All donations are tax deductible. Make cheque payable to “C&MA Canada”.
