Jose and Joscelyn
Our God Story
Joscelyn grew up in a Christian home and sensed a call to missions at a young age. As an Ambrose University alumnus, she studied Intercultural Studies and completed an ONSITE internship in Kenya. She also attained a TESOL diploma and led several short-term teams.
Since following Jesus in high school and graduating from UBC, Jose’s sense of calling was formed through a series of onramps, such as the Perspectives Course, several internships overseas, and a master’s degree at Regent College.
After serving in Guinea and Niger, they returned to Canada in 2017 with a continued sense of God’s call to cross-cultural ministry overseas and a passion to mentor the next generation of leaders. They are developing Global Semester for Envision Canada and Global Ministries to help churches engage their young leaders in developing a call to cross-cultural missional engagement. For more information about Global Semester, please visit the website envisioncanada.org/global-semester.
With the desire for LRPGs to have access to Jesus, through Global Semester, we long to see (a) many young people gain a better sense of God’s call through a full-orbed, cross-cultural internship; (b) more churches intentionally engaging emerging leaders along the journey of discernment; and (c) more fields becoming better equipped to facilitate short-term internships for future cohorts to develop a heart for their LRPGs.
We are connecting with churches to communicate the vision of Global Semester and journeying with them in identifying potential candidates. We are coordinating with team leaders and regional developers to plan for the logistics and curriculum for each of the Global Semester cohorts. We are overseeing apprentices, interns, and short-term teams in the Sand Region.

Pray for more young people to be developed in cross-cultural ministry within the Alliance family of churches under the umbrella of Envision Canada and through the various on-ramps that are available.
Pray for more churches to become more intentional in guiding and walking alongside the emerging leaders in their communities to help the next generation discern God’s call.
Pray for fields to become inspired to continue facilitating a Global Semester internship in subsequent years after receiving their first cohort.
Pray for another IW or IW couple to journey with us in developing the program and to eventually guide the future of the program.
