A smiling group of kids holding backpacks in South America

On a recent Tuesday afternoon, the Brave Heart team set out on the 11-hour drive to Jalisco in a white truck that had its box full of school supplies thanks to generous donations to the Alliance Justice and Compassion catalogue.

The next morning, at the Christian Huichol community, they worked together with youth from the community for three hours to put together 87 backpacks that would be hand delivered to Huichol youth in junior high, high school, and some college students.

As they were filling the backpacks, they took time to pray over each backpack for the student who would receive it, as most of them do not know Jesus yet.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the team travelled to five different communities to personally give the backpacks to each personFor Jesús, one of the team members, it was great to see the joy and surprise on the students faces as they saw the backpacks and the supplies inside. Due to the pandemic, many parents didn’t have any extra money to buy their kids school supplies. Both the parents and students were excited and thankful that they had received good quality school supplies.

It is through your generous giving that this team was able to help share the love of God and His provision through thoughtful donations to Huichol.
