Darcy and Kris
Our God Story
Darcy is from Manitoba and Kris is originally from Idaho. They met in France during their final year of high school and married two years later. They lived in Winnipeg, MB, for 20 years. Together, they have four children, one in University (living in Canada) and three in school (high school, middle school, and elementary).
Darcy became a Christian during his first year of university. He worked for 20 years in the international trade business while being involved in lay ministry, including leadership roles at their home church. Kris became a Christ follower at a young age. After completing university and working for a short time at a bank, she became a stay-at-home mom when their oldest son was born in 2000. She has also been involved in different ministries at their home church.
Through a series of short-term mission trips and a spiritual awakening, Darcy and Kris sensed God calling them to serve in a foreign context. As God was preparing them, they had their eyes opened to the Muslims locally and around the world and felt an urgency to minister to them, wherever that may be. They began the application and training process, which extended over a period of two years. It wasn’t until after about 15 months into the process that they knew where they would be serving. Through it all, God was faithful, opening doors and showing them the way.
Develop friendships with the local people and through spiritual conversations introduce them to the redemptive story of Jesus Christ. We long to see a movement amongst our LRPG of Jesus followers who are Christ‐centred, Spirit‐ empowered, and Mission‐focused.
Darcy is a partner/owner of a business that focuses on coaching and training for business owners. They focus on leadership development, management training, and building relationships to not only transform the owners’ business but to transform their lives.
Kris is a Birth Doula, teaching prenatal classes and providing birth support. She also teaches English about 2-3 times per week. Through this work she is building relationships with the locals.
