My God Story

I came to know Jesus at a young age but started to make my faith my own in middle school. I always dreamed of working overseas as a teacher. However, on an exchange trip in high school, God clearly spoke to me and told me to pursue international aid and development. Little did I know that, partway through my first degree, this would lead into nursing. Through my studies in university, I developed a passion for social justice and a heart for the Middle East. Despite pursuing different opportunities, when I heard about our work with the Y people and others who had been displaced, it was as if a light bulb went off and God was saying, "This is where I want you". I am passionate about maternal care and look forward to using this to open doors with the Y people and others who have been displaced.

My Vision

"In building relationships with those who have been displaced and traumatized through war, I desire for people to find freedom and hope through Jesus."

Current Priorities

"I am currently working to raise my support for my 2-year apprenticeship. When I go to the field, my priorities will be language and cultural learning, looking at ways to support maternal and child health, and discerning how God wants me to be involved long-term, after my apprenticeship."

Our Team

Silk Road Team

Pray that God would open doors to build friendships with the Y people and for them to hear and accept the Truth.

Pray for wisdom and discernment when working with local medical staff to know how best to address current practices that do not align with best practice standards.

Pray for that I would grasp things quickly in my language learning so that I can communicate the Truth more effectively.
